CF OAKTON OFFERS BALANCE WITH THE NEW ELIA COLLECTION

Los Angeles, CA [September 2009] – CF Oakton presents Elia for Fall 2009, an eclectic balance of traditional and modern eras. Clean lines and delicate details create a center-stage spotlight for the beautiful surface patterns created by the reverse-diamond book-matched veneering. In-house designer, Jonathan Fu, envisioned simple yet stylish shapes that define the standard of eclectic sophistication.

Elia leverages balanced contrasts in its design to create styling versatility and a dazzling presence. Constructed of U.S kiln-dried walnut veneers and maple solids, Elia is dressed in a natural walnut finish with a contrasting wenge base. The forms incorporate a sinuous ribbon shape in the platform base that balances the stark geometric facade of the case pieces. This concept of balanced contrast, as seen in mixed media art, is taken one step further in the cabinet, where tempered glass is used as shelving to calm the warmth of the wood. The lack of hardware sustains attention on the intricate marquetry in the surface detail. In place of hardware, hand-pull cut-outs are integrated into the drawer and door panels for functionality without adding cluttered esthetics.

Elia currently includes dining and occasional groups and will offer bedroom and office groups in the beginning of next year. Suggested retail price points range from $319 for the dining chair to $1399 for the cabinet.
